I honestly hate blogging and I'm really bad at being one of those "religious bloggers" but I decided I would like to post photos, quotes, sayings, snippets, basically assortments of "stuff" I like on my blog. So here goes.
Perhaps commentary will occasionally accompany the "stuff" as well.
I'm not a harry potter fan...
but any one can love this.

I Watched A Bug Die
They just kind of flop over on their back, their legs flailing around, until they die. It's like they can't just roll over and keep walking.
What if people were like that? One minute we flopped over on our backs, our arms and legs flailing around, until we died. No one would be there to stop by and roll us over to say "hey, keep walking" or even worse; they would chose not to.
Do you think that's how the world is? Do you think that people are lacking in the oversized heart department? Is our ability to care decreasing at an alarming rate?
I like to believe that each day the world is a better place, that each day people are leaving the world a little better than they left it, but I just feel like people are becoming more and more apathetic.
Does nothing matter anymore? Are we really so self-absorbed that there's no time for a friend dying of cancer or time to drop some money in a tin for starving children.
When did what's in it for me become more important than what's in it for them ?
I think we all get a little too caught up in life sometimes that we forget the needs out there. We forget that to get a hand we have to give a hand. To get picked up we have to do some picking up.
There are so many people out their lying on their backs with their arms flailing, and we're just watching them die.
But what does it matter, its just bugs right?

a million ways to say
i'm sorry
i love you
thank you
you know, there's a million ways to say those simple phrases. You can say "I know I'm not perfect" or "you're one in a million" but really, what happened to the simple phrases? Since when does "I love you" or "I'm sorry" require insignificant fluff. Can't the words stand on their own?
Tell me, when did simplicity become outdated?
cause I MISS IT.
People get too caught trying to say something in one hundred words that would have just as much meaning in five.
So world, I think we need to say less, and mean more because it only takes a fraction of a second to have your world turned upside down.
Be the one to say "I'm sorry" first or "I love you" and mean it.
Don't spend time waiting for some one else to take responsibility because too many people already do that.
Its easier to be the spectator than the player, but if you never play you never win.
Say the simple words just for the sake of saying them
Don't complicate them, leave them as they are in their simplicity. Words are beautiful as they come.
Language doesn't need to be complicated.
Simplicity is beautiful.
i love you
thank you

my wonderings
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be an ant. Can you imagine crawling around in a garden and then watching a human pluck a weed out of the ground? It would be the equivalent of a giant pulling up a redwood for us humans.
All the time I pull "what if your name was _____ " statements, because I wonder what if your name really was something completely absurd. Just ask lindsey, she knows the inner working of these ponderings.
Sometimes I wonder what I look like when i'm sleeping, and then people show me pictures. After that, I wish I still wondered :P
Somtimes I wonder why our arms tan, our legs, our shoulders, our backs, but never our palms. I mean think about it, they're always the same color. Isn't that weird? I think its weird.
Sitting here typing this post... I wonder why there are 2 shift buttons, because I only use the one on the left hand side of the keyboard. Poor little neglected right side shift key :(
Coming home from Salt Lake today, I wondered why it's called "rush hour" when no one was really moving all too quickly...
Sometimes, I just wonder about things. Don't you?

Know What Matters
I think, that sometimes we all forget.
I think, that sometimes we forget because we don't want to remember.
I think that sometimes, we don't think because thinking means deciding whether or not to forget or remember.
But we need to think, remember, cherish, laugh in the moments, and savor that laughter, because life is short.
I ask you this question:
If you died today would you like who you've turned out to be?
Could you shuffle of this mortal coil with no regrets? Would you die believing in something worth believing in?
Joan of Arc once said, "One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying."
So I hope you listened to Shane. Because he said it all.
Realize there are moments in life to laugh. Moments to cry. Moments to understand. And moments to not understand anything at all.
and you know what?
When you come to realize that you probably don't know a single thing about anything, you're just around the corner from recognizing that life will be ok.
and that's all that matters.

I Despise Blogging
Dear Bloggers out there,
I really hate blogging. I do.
I mean, who seriously thought about creating some sort of online realm where thoughts and feelings could be shared on a whim?
There's all these blogs out there that speak of secrets, tragedies, happiness, and personal life stories...
and anyone can read them. A-N-Y-O-N-E.
A stranger. A neighbor. Your Grandma. That kid in your math class who smells like cheese...
I mean, do you ever truly know?
They don't have to talk to you face to face.
There is no need to.
No one needs to.
No one has to take the time at school, at work, or at church to find out how you are.
They can simply make a few clicks instead, read about your life, and voila. The act of being a "good neighbor" is finished with the click of a mouse.
Its all so impersonal.
and I hate it.
So why do we blog?
We blog because, secretly, deep down inside, we love blogging. It's true. There's just something so therapeutic about pressing a few keys and watching our thoughts unfold on a screen. Sometimes it's just nice to let the words be there simply because they can be, and you know what? It doesn't matter if the words suck or if anyone reads it because blogging isn't for your friends or your neighbor or even the fuzzy cat that watches from your lap as you type your blog posts. Blogging is for the individual. Blogging is for you and
Its for me.
So, Blog because you can, because you want to, or because you don't want to.
Get your story OUT HERE.
Don't be afraid to let the strangers read it.
Don't be afraid if others read it and don't like it.
Don't even be afraid if no one reads it,
because in the end, what you write is utimately for you and if you just happen to have a reader that gets something out of your words, then keep on writing because you never know who you'll touch and you never know when.
You don't have to talk face to face with someone to touch their heart or their minds. All you have to do is type the words, place the period, press the publish button, and walk away.
